Read MoreWe take the concept of year-round swimming seriously at La Petite Baleen. Over the past 40 years, we have seen the success that comes from students swimming regularly vs. in short sessions for a season or two. You can read more about the importance of year-round swimming in a previous blog post.
But with summer comes myriad opportunities to swim beyond weekly lessons. So where do we go? We polled our Facebook Group and here were some of the top choices:
Red Tricycle also recently shared a list of Bay Area kid friendly beaches.
If you’re staying closer to home, we can help maximize your swim time. Every student receives two complimentary make-up lessons per season/quarter that can be used to either make up a missed class or add some additional swim time for your little fishies. Our Swimformation and Booking staff can help you find an appropriate class.
Your local Parks & Rec department may offer some swim-focused day camp programs, but if they don’t or if they’re full and you’re still wanting to get your child a lot more swim time, consider stringing together some Splash & Dash lessons. If available, you can book back-to-back lessons for an hour of swimming to really drive home those skills (and burn some of that summer energy).
Wherever your summer adventures take you, please be sure to remember the Summer Safety messages your students learned last month. If you need a refresher, please check out our Summer Safety blog post!
