WHY YOU SHOULD LET US TEACH YOUR KIDS HOW TO SWIM
While you may consider yourself a savvy, capable swimmer, it’s best to leave teaching your kids how to swim to the professionals at La Petite Baleen Swim Schools. Here are a few reasons why:
- Proper Technique – Our professional swim instructors know the appropriate technique for every type of swimming stroke, not just the dog paddle. From the butterfly stroke to the breaststroke, backstroke, and sidestroke, we’ll break down each type step-by-step, so it’s easier for your child to learn. It’s essential to know the correct positioning of the hands, legs, head, and body in each type of stroke to make it the most effective.
- Less Anxiety – Working one-on-one with a swim instructor can be less intimidating than learning how to swim with a parent. Children are less likely to resist trying something new with one of our friendly, encouraging instructors than they are with their parents whom they’re more prone to tune out. Some children also take comfort in learning how to swim in a group of their peers.
- Water Safety – We always begin by teaching your child about basic water safety. Early swimming lessons include learning to enjoy being in the water and learning to get comfortable with submerging the face and head under water until your child feels ready to move beyond the basics. It’s important to acclimate your child, so they’re more comfortable about being in the water and open to learning more skills throughout future swimming classes.
