Read MoreDrowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in children under age 5 in the US (and California) and there are three elements of risk in every drowning: The water, the person, and the response.
ASK YOURSELF: If my child fell in the water and was struggling, could I help? Or would we both potentially be at risk?
If you answered no or hesitated on the question above, or if you or your childcare provider are not able to swim in deep water, you are at risk of not providing a “Safer Response” in the event of an emergency.
Adult classes at LPB are for any level swimmer, from those just beginning to those trying to fine tune their strokes or train for competition. We have helped many adults overcome long-held fears of water and swimming, so if that’s what’s holding you back, we encourage you to give us a try.
Swim lessons are also a great form of exercise for adults of all ages, shapes, and sizes. The rhythmic breathing and weightlessness add an element of meditation to the mix, while getting the muscles moving and the cardiovascular system pumping.
LPB also offers classes for teens. Swimming is an important skill at any age and we have had great success teaching teens with all ranges of abilities. Teenagers often attend activities (swim parties, water parks, etc.) where you, the parent, are not present. Make sure your teenager has the necessary skills to navigate these activities safely.
Still not sure? Give it a try for FREE! We offer free trial lessons at LPB. Remember, it’s never too late to learn!
