Season of Giving 2018

As 2018 comes to an end, we reflect back on what a great year it has been.

39 Years of Happy Splashing!Deck Pod putting together hygiene kits for SF homeless shelter

In April, La Petite Baleen celebrated its 39th year in the learn-to-swim world. It is a milestone that we are honored to have reached, largely due to the work of our staff and support of our customers. We are incredibly grateful for our swim parents who make the commitment to reinforce their children’s safety and well-being by incorporating weekly swimming lessons into their routine. Learning to swim is the single-most important life skill a person can undertake, and the responsibility of teaching your children is not something we take lightly.

Free Swim Lessons (and CPR, too!)

2018 marks our third year offering free lessons to infants under 6 months, which more than 1,400 families have participated in. We have also given away 9,320 Free Splash & Dash drop-in lessons to our enrolled students, and have awarded either full or partial scholarships to 250 low-income families. In October we hosted free CPR training courses to dozens of LPB Parent and caregivers.

New Class Management Software

Over the summer we launched our new class management software. Like all new things, there were some bumps in the road. You were patient with us as we worked through the changes and got used to our new program. Thank you for sticking with us! We have received lots of great feedback in regards to the new Parent Portal and LPB App. We truly hope that everyone has found our new software to be much more user-friendly.

Giving Back to our Community

We believe strongly in giving back to our communities. This year, our schools and staff put together various fundraisers and drives to help those in need: Coats for Kids, Socks for the Homeless, toys and clothes for Adopt-a-Families, Red Nose Day, donations to St. Judes in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, donations for the Camp Fire victims, La Casa de las Madres Pajama Drive, hygiene kits for local homeless students, and various donations and sponsorships to our local schools, parks and other important organizations.

We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us! Big plans for our 40th Anniversary are underway, and we cannot wait to celebrate with each and everyone of you.

Happy Splashing, and Happy Holidays!
